The Academic Council of the National University of Science and Technology is a collegial governing body that advises the university president, defines policies and directions for the university's teaching, research, innovation, and educational activities, reviews and deliberates on key documents governing academic work, and issues conclusions and recommendations. The Academic Council approves documents related to educational policy and technological standards, reviews and approves newly launched programs, discusses policies, directions, and outcomes of research work, and fulfills responsibilities related to faculty and honorary titles. Based on the decisions of the Academic Council, the university's Board of Directors confers the titles of 'Associate Professor,' 'Professor,' 'Honorary Doctor,' and 'Honorary Professor.'

Duties of the Academic Council:

• Develop and issue documents for use in the educational activities of the National University of Science and Technology
• Discuss and approve the main and long-term directions of the university's teaching and research work; approve the study plan
• Approve and implement the university's research programs; discuss issues related to awarding academic degrees and make recommendations to the relevant higher authorities
• Provide suggestions and recommendations for publishing, supplying, and making research works, books, textbooks, and manuals publicly accessible
