BEST ENGINEER - DRIVER OF DEVELOPMEN

INTRODUCTION OF THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY

With the motto 'The Key to the Best Engineering Development,' the National University of Technology (NUT) was originally established in 1997 under the name Sanko College. Later, in accordance with the resolution of the University's Board of Directors in 2012, considering the shortage of engineering professionals in Mongolia, from the academic year 2012-2013, it was reorganized and renamed the 'National Institute of Technology,' becoming the first private institution specializing in engineering programs. In 2016, it became the National University of Technology, operating with six branch campuses.

The National University of Science and Technology has been accredited three times and offers educational programs in 29 majors at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels through its six schools: Energy and Transport, Civil Engineering and Architecture, Geodesy and Mining, Nursing, Business and Humanities, and Law. The university has produced over 9,000 graduates who are well-trained engineers capable of working at an international level, and they have become leaders in the fields of mining, energy, construction, and transportation in Japan, the USA, and 21 provinces of Mongolia. Additionally, the Erdem Khishig Lyceum operates under the university. Students of the National University of Science and Technology study comfortably in a clean, warm, and well-equipped environment, utilizing two academic buildings, five specialized laboratories, two dormitories, a sports complex, a cultural center, a library with 50,000 books, a student development center, and a faculty-student cafeteria.

In 2016, this university improved its programs through the European Union's Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project (EAC/A03/2016/ Euro-Mongolian Cooperation for Modernization Of Engineering Education), developing its historical traditions alongside global open education, enhancing students' talents through innovation and practice-based learning. Within the framework of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project (EAC/A03/2016/ Euro-Mongolian Cooperation for Modernization Of Engineering Education), the university acquired a professional laboratory for training and research in electrical supply worth 1 million euros, enabling students to master the electrical supply specialty at a high level.

At the National University of Science and Technology, in addition to 7 types of 'Admission' scholarships, 5 types of 'Academic' scholarships for the duration of study, and 6 types of 'National' scholarships under the 'Students can pay their own tuition' scholarship program, students also have access to scholarships and loans from the Education Loan Fund, creating student-friendly opportunities for learning, growth, and development.

At the National University of Science and Technology, more than 130 scholars, professors, researchers, and engineers are working. Over 70 percent of the faculty hold academic degrees and are experienced teachers, and some are also top consulting engineers of Mongolia, which allows students to improve their knowledge through both theoretical and practical top-level training, thereby providing opportunities to develop skilled human resources.

Teachers and students actively participate in school-named academic conferences for students, the “Best Engineer-Development Pillar” academic conference, engineering sector Olympiads, as well as international and national competitions, conducting scientific research work. In addition to voluntary clubs that foster students' learning enthusiasm, aesthetics, and professional skills, annual traditional events such as the “Student Autumn” arts festival, large and small sports games, and other competitions have become highly anticipated events for students.
